Enterprise FrameWork is an advanced modeling software solution
for automating the development of an organization's Enterprise
Architecture, including support for business landscape, strategic
intent, value chains, processes, organizational structures,
knowledge, skills, business rules, applications, information
and technology infrastructures. Enterprise FrameWork provides
the means to visually and logically represent knowledge, as
well as an environment used for perform analytics, "what-if"
scenarios, Web publishing, and generating other meaningful
reports.
KnowledgeEngine
At the heart of FrameWork is the powerful KnowledgeEngine,
which is the one of the core technologies for Ptech. Based
on a neural net and semantic network design, each element
of information is defined by its characteristics and relationships
to other objects. Every object, or node in the network, may
"refer" to an infinite number of other information
nodes. The KnowledgeEngine, like a brain, is a powerful inference
engine that verifies the applicability of all rules as new
objects are created. As new rules are added, it ensures that
existing objects do not violate these rules.
KnowledgeBase
The repository in FrameWork, called the KnowledgeBase, is
an integrated, intelligent, and dynamic knowledge engine and
repository that is used to visually and logically store all
of the information entered into a FrameWork model. The KnowledgeBase
contains meta-models, diagram types, tool folders, queries
and forms. A KnowledgeBase is also the repository for pre-defined,
existing or custom-built method Accelerators.
The information objects in FrameWork can have visual representation
and, using FrameWork graphic tools, these objects can be instantiated,
populated with their instance-specific information and then
linked using graphical tools. These links are retained in
the KnowledgeBase and become the basis that FrameWork uses
to dynamically generate a complete KnowledgeBase image in
a variety of static output formats, including HTML, spreadsheets,
and documents. Users merely need a standard Web browser to
view the generated HTML output, which has fully-linked objects,
including graphical models, documentation, diagrams, strategic
concepts, and plans.
AbstractGenerator
Ptech complements its FrameWork technology with a powerful,
customizable and sophisticated generator that traverses the
KnowledgeBase and generates text, graphics or code. The script-based
generator uses an expansion mechanism to traverse the KnowledgeBase
and generate sophisticated output. Using some specific templates
that have been built, users can generate hyperlinked Web pages
that represent the KnowledgeBase. This allows the knowledge
to be shared over an Intranet using standard Web browsers.
Also, users can generate sophisticated analysis reports to
discover gaps, redundancies, and dependencies or to perform
impact analysis. The power of the KnowledgeBase and the AbstractGenerator
allow users to perform sophisticated logical and numerical
analysis.
Why FrameWork_
The only way to anticipate and understand change is to capture
the major components of the organization in an intelligent
knowledgebase. Organizations have to build the capability
to understand the impact of change. Increase the value of
the organization by transforming its knowledge capital into
a tangible, retainable and maintainable asset that integrates
people, process, costs, and technology. Increase the effectiveness
inside the organization by transforming it into a learning
organization. Enable the organization to respond quickly to
user, political and management demands by aligning functional
and technology infrastructure to its business direction.
